Cambridge Sensoriis Wins Dstl Contract to Advance UAV Radar for Humanitarian De-Mining

Cambridge Sensoriis is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Dstl contract to develop a UAV-deployed, radar-based solution for supporting humanitarian de-mining activities.

The Cambridge Sensoriis GHz Airborne Radar Detection for Munitions and Explosives project, GARD ME, will focus on detecting items of unexploded ordnance (UXO), which can remain scattered across all areas of land post conflict.

Cambridge Sensoriis will develop our air to ground radar system to allow such detection, location and recognition of scattered UXO on the ground, and additionally investigate the suitability of different radar frequency bands for ground penetration.

The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) brings mission success to UK defence and security through science and technology advantage and is an executive agency of the Ministry of Defence.
